Tutorial 6 of 7

Release plan, other apps and automation

Advanced 7 min

Plan which file goes where and when, export the plan to your calendar, hand files to other usefulweb apps and run the same tools from scripts or AI agents.

Release plan

The Plan view is a simple release calendar. Add an entry with a title, date, optional time and channel, and link it to a file and a spec it must pass. The Ready? column then shows at a glance whether the linked file passes the spec. Overdue entries are marked.

Export calendar (.ics) writes all entries — or only the upcoming ones — as calendar events with a reminder the day before. Import the file into Google Calendar, Outlook or Apple Calendar.

Hand files to other apps

File → Open selected file in another app… sends the selected video, audio or image to another usefulweb premium app, for example to Lumina for retouching a product shot. Other apps can send media to Reelcraft the same way; it appears in the library with the origin From another app. The files go directly from tab to tab — nothing is uploaded.

Share and save

  • File → Save project file writes a .reelcraft.json file with library metadata, recipes, checks, plan and run history. The media files are not inside — keep them alongside.
  • File → Copy share link creates a #project= link with your recipes, checks and plan (without media and run history), so a colleague can use the same workflow.

Automation

Every step is a documented usefulweb tool. Help → Tools, API and MCP… lists the 20 tools with links to their pages. The same tools are available through POST /api/v1/tools/<id>/calculate and through MCP for AI agents. The project format is published as a JSON schema, so scripts can generate or read Reelcraft projects.
